Default Finally The Race (Lightly Modded Cobalt SS)

Well guys I'll try to keep this short. About a month ago I posted a thread on who would win, me or this arrogant kid with a lightly modified 07 Cobalt SS. Well today we raced and to the satisfaction of all Mustang owners I beat him. We raced from a roll and from a dig. At a roll it was a little closer (maybe a car). From a dig it was preety ugly. I had maybe two cars after we shut down at around 110 mph. He said he had some exhaust work and a couple bolt ons. I thought for sure he would run me preety hard especially from a roll. This is the 1st time that I ran my car this hard since I installed the 410's (I had 373's). All I can say is what a difference. Did the race sound about right or do you think the guy was having a bad day? Thanks for reading guys.

nice run, and sounds about right to me, I'd just say that 2 cars to 110 is not ugly

Now that I think about it I guess you're right (2 cars not ugly). Forgot to mention the guy thought he had this one in the bag. Before the race he tells me how he beat his dad's 08 GT by a car and he's running neck and neck with his buddies 06 BMW M3 both are auto tho (don't really know if that makes much of a diff). Man the car is running real good and after this race it's really making me wonder should I just buy the new trick flow heads or get the S/C.

Considering your pretty much full bolt-on, cammed with 4:10's he did pretty well from a dig to 100 for only having a few bolt-ons.

I'm curious too. I'm a full bolt on minus headers with stage 2 heads, and comp 268's and I only put down 260rwhp (I'm an auto, with a gear too).

I'm sure ur around 300rwhp. The Cams gained me 16rwhp peak and lost 2ft lbs of torque, but I gained through the rpm rangs (as much as 3x rwhp and 40ft lbs of torque).

You have a nice car there soldier.

Good run Soldier! I've heard they can be tough from a roll, in fact I know first hand, lol! 2007 was the last year of the supercharged Cobalts, right?

Yea i wanna know how ur shorty headers treated ya...i kinda want a set but don't know about the net gains. But yeah it sounds right to me. I beat a stock one really bad from a dig (4+ lengths then he quit) haha. But yeah with ur cams and headers and 4.10s id say that race sounds about right.

Love when they "think" they got it in the bag...god it makes me feel good haha.

I did spin alot (gotta get use to those 410's, lol) but once she hooked it was all over. What was the last year of the S/C SS's?
