Id say good runs for it being your first time. A local guy around here has a magnacharger and ran 14.XXs his first time out. I think me may of actually got into the high 13s but its b/c he wasnt very experienced with racing at the track.

Get some tires and you will pull some low 12s if not high 11s.

Yea he has some damn good times for only having the s/c and tires. That definitely makes me want to get a s/c very soon.

2nd trip to the strip, had a couple friends take cars this time. Last time my best was 12.65 with an average of 13.17, bad reaction & 60 ft avg of .5733 & 2.1685.

With my apparently old and slow reflexes, this time I went hammer down on the last yellow and never red lighted. Better results, with my best being .1969 . avg closer to .2818.

But still not the best 60 ft times, best was 1.9101 and avg 2.0060.... just can't get out of hole without spinning on darn street tires (275 Nitto 555). Best 1/4 this time was 12.83, with avg of 12.98. Oh, and dropped tire pressure to about 20, but it was also about 15 degrees warmer than first time.

Would really like to find some DR's, but don't want to spend bunch a money turning into a drag car as it is my sunshine weekend car, but would sure like to see some better times, kinda embarrassing running this high with a supercharger. Seems like have seen slightly modded NA GT's running hi 12's

Anyway after my buddy got the feel of running his 70 Challenger and run a couple 12.9's (built big block, I don't know the details but he thinks around 400+ at wheels, auto tranny) he said lets go, bet you a beer. Beat him by .6821 first run and the rematch was only by .2010. He owes me 2 LARGE beers, can't wait to meet up on our normal Thursday night gathering LOL!

Very close 2nd run with him: I think he was just intimidated by the Mustang LOL

Me him
.3630 react .3519
2.0250 60 ft 2.1199
8.3667 1/8 et 8.4879
87.07 1/8 mph 85.08
12.8991 1/4 et 13.1112
108.92 1/4 mph 106.30

The 71 Boss was stock and a manual tranny, best he managed was hi 14's

What is the best deal I could find on a set of DR's? Would it worth buying used, how many runs can you get out of them?

pretty close anyway, although I did have one 12.65. Also this track is known for not being the stickiest, and on test and tune night when I was there unless someone drips something, they do nothing to the track. Again, traction is a major issue off the line and looks like my manual shifting (at least launching could use some work). Looking at your HP numbers, and though I haven't been on a dyno, I should be about 100 hp more than you.... I must really need a driver mod! LOL

What are you getting for 60 ft? you auto or manual?

Bob - you have a Saleen blower? what boost r u running?

wiht 4.10s and a blower the car should be able to run 11.8x - 12.1 ETs IMHO

get a DR (17s and tires cost you in teh 500 area IMO) and get those 60s down to the 1.8 range and your on your way

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction.

Thats because Cordova is hooking like a MOFO!!!

I honestly missed the blower part and thought you were running your times with just a tune/gears/exhaust and lcas... I kept thinking WOW thats an awesome time...but now I am wondering what's going on... have you had it to a dyno shop or anywhere? I am wondering if there is something not 100% that is holding you back. Honestly your 60fts are not great but all but 2 of them are better than my 60fts and I'm running about where I should be. MPH just looks down for whatever reason, honestly I have to wonder if its the gears killing you?

Bingo^. 4.10s and postive displacement blower = no traction on street tires. Get yourself a decent drag radial. I can see why your 60 is hurting from loss of traction, but I still think you should be trapping higher than that.

Edit:What gear are you in through the traps?
