yeah, my second gear kicks in @ 45MPH WOT... so going from a 40MPH roll I have to go from 2nd and be completely out of my powerband because of the fact... @ 40MPH the stang is directly in his powerband from 2nd and just rips

now everytime we go to race he asks for a 40MPH roll because anywhere else it just isn't a race lol

If the goat came with 3.23's and a 4l60e, then 40mph is one of the absolute worse speeds to roll race from. 50mph isn't so bad, but 40 is a killer.

EDIT: you must have posted at the same time as me....

3.46 final drive and a 4L65E

essentially the same thing though... a horrible speed to race from

Yea, like I said, I don't keep up as much as I used to. Seems like Ford/Dodge/GM are coming out with new motors and tranny's all the time.

When the video speeds up on the takeoffs and flybys it makes the cars look way faster than they actually are :P

Awesome races though, those GTOs are pretty impressive. What other mod plans do you have for it?

lol, yeah that was the plan... although the last flyby I did in the GTO @ about 1:26 was not sped up and the camera car was cruising @ about 65MPH lol

as far as other mods.... seeing as these tires bite in hard and want more RPM I will probably opt for a baby stall (2800-3200) accompanied by a baby shot (75-100 shot)... this will let me rev up to just before the RPM where the car will spray (probably will be set to around 3500RPM) so I can rev up to the stall at the tree, floor it on the line operating on all motor allowing myself to get traction and then a half a second later let the spray take over.... IMO this will eliminate traction problems given the added power

I am hoping to have these two mods done by the end of the year... other than that just little things like a 5/16" raise (spring replacement) in the back accompanied by GSR shocks and poly bushings

it's a tremendously long shot in the dark but I am hoping for low 12's or possibly high 11's after these few mods

Go with a bigger stall, you'll wish you did. The car is not gonna see the true stall potential at your power level. A 3500 might let you rev to 2800 footbraking the car before the tires turn over. Maybe 3k with your tires. 3500-6200 should be a good window for your car to spray.

Oh yea, you'll want to snag a tranny cooler as well. A torque converter creates a lot of heat.

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction.
