those MT et streets would be perfect for you. you dont need a super wide size either. grab an ol set of 15" steelies and mount them on there, just for the track.

what do you have for a rear suspension?

I'm still running the factory leafs, haha. A little soft these days. KYB shocks and snubber traction bars. Driveline angle is good, no wheel hop, just not much traction either.

id focus on the suspension for now, and then work with the tire's.

the 8.8 is a beast, IMO, i launch my car hard and havent hurt it yet. we will see how it hold's on the bottle

good luck

I figure by midnight it might be low 70's at best. Humidity out there in the farm land is usually around 35%, so the DA is gonna be like 2,000-2,500ft.

But as far as running, this will be the first time I'm running on fresh street tires, all the other times the tread was more than 50% worn and traction was limited. Also now that I have a mech 2nd rather than vacuum 2nd carb I have total throttle control, which should help peddling it outta the hole somewhat. The setup is basically the same, except I'm running a larger dual plane(RPM Air Gap) now rather than the low rise dual plane I had before. And I also now have a 650 mech 2nd carb with annular booster and 3 circuit metering, rather than my vacuum 570 Holley with a weaker metering circuit. I'm hoping to squeeze around 110mph out of it.

If I can get my 60's into the 2.0-2.1 range and pull 110mph it should go mid 12's based on how the car runs and reacts to 60's. I've found with my setup any change in the 60' tends to be a tad more than doubled as far as ET. Even at 107mph if I could get 2.0's it should run 12.70's.

Wish me luck....or skill, I'll take either.
I wish you both and if IIRC you've got a squeaky clean '68 with tall gears but enough motor to get it done. Don't wet your shorts on the launch and I see high 12's in your future...

It's a 67, and not squeaky clean, at least not on the outside anyway. It used to be a 3.00 gear but it's a 3.55 now.

I have been planning on replacing my suspension though. Even just putting some Slide-A-Links on it would probably make it hook a whole lot better.
