he has an auto, short throw wont do much for him, he already has pulleys, new tires wont do much for him on the 20s.

I got a DA adjusted 12.9 with my mods listed below and MT drag radials on 17" stock rims. so.. yeah.. get 4.10s, a Driveshaft, and get some stock 17" rims with MT DRs should get you there.. to be certain you can try the offroad x and delete plates.

also pull spare/jack if you haven't already.. and any other weight savings you can do.. remove rear seats + hardware.. you have a couple hundred lbs on me I believe and I had jack/spare removed for that run and I had the engine completely cooled down.

Didn't the 05's and 06's come stock with 3.55 gears? I know people love 4.10's but your gears are good enough right now. Add other things before gears. Hell throw some cams on there. That'll be nice

the autos have always come with 3.31s.. I shaved off like .3 with gears alone.. its a huge difference for only $200 (with install $500) bang for the buck it can't be beat. Cams are best when you have LT headers, w/o headers a lot of people have only gained 10-15rwhp, with them they have added 20-30rwhp... I'd do Cams as a final mod and only if I wasn't going to get forced induction.

+1 on the gears helping with acceleration. The 3.31s were great for traction but not so great for picking up acceleration.

4.10's and get rid of the 20's and you should be there.
