I have been going to test/tune nights at Z-Max in Concord. Now I finally have the racing challenge I have been waiting to get for years. The WIFE want's to throw down with her supe'd up Saturn Sky Redline roadster. This should be good. I will definitely post to Youtube.
Last time I was out I ran 13.37 1/4 mile. Here is what I have:
Stock 3.31 gears
Steeda UDP
BBK 65mm Throttle Body
BBK CAI
Falken F452 255/35/20s all around
Livewire tune from JMS based on the above for 93 octane
I have ordered and hope to get installed:
JLT CAI
Livewire tune from Brenspeed based on the above swapping the BBK CAI for the JLT.
I want to stay NA so I am looking for ideas to put me under 13. I'd prefer to do it myself (so that excludes Cams). Thinking about:
MSD or GMS COPs
X pipe
Axle back exhaust (probably Corsa)
Electric water pump
3.93 gears (note that I have about 26,500 miles on the stock rear end)
What order would you rank these in terms of bang for the buck? I suspect it goes:
gears
axle back
x pipe
water pump
COPs
Am I missing anything?

Gears would be number 1 for sure. Get the FRPP 4.10a gears. Axle back is personal preference because they do not add any HP. You can get .2 with an aluminum DS. Then I would get a set of DR like MT ET Streets. These upgrades would get you in the high 12's based on your current times.

Yeah get rid of the 20's. Throw some DR's on a set of stock 17's.

be careful about tech, NHRA requires a roll bar @ 13.49 ETs for verts

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction. 11.867 @ 119.35

I asked my tuner about doing an O/R/X and he said it would only gain a couple horses, that the stock cats were very high flowing, even for a S/C engine. He said that the offroad was good for sound and thats about it. I could see the pump getting a 10 rwhp gain, but the draw back to those is that they have like a 900 (think its 900?) hour life span.
OP, I would do pretty much what everyone is telling you.... Gears, CAI/Tune (you should highly consider a dyno tune) and an axle back to make it sound good. A mustang isn't a mustang without a nice sounding exhaust. Drag radials will bring it all together where 12s shouldn't be an issue for you.
