This is my first trip to the track with my new setup in my 04 GT which was a swap from a vortech s-trim to a KB 2.6. I also swapped over my rear gear from a 4.10 to a 3.55. I have to say I was not totally happy. The car had some major fuel pressure hesitation problems at high rpm shifting around 6700, which from my research is a tuning problem which I am in the process of getting fixed. The next thing was no traction even with my MT ET streets. My average 60ft was 1.9 with one miracle 1.6 in there. Finally I hade my rear gear dilemma, with the 3.55's I am hitting the rev limiter in thrid gear about 20ft before the finish line which is not even enough diatnce to shift to 4th to make a difference. I am hopeing that with a taller rear tire I can squeeze out a few hundred rpm to cross over the finish line still pulling. Other than that my best time was 11.8 @ 120mph.
11.8@120 is flying. All that swapping mods for other mods has got to get evpensive.
actually when I built up my 2v I wanted to go KB but I didn't have the extra cash so I made due with the vortech, when I saved up some cash the kb was the 1st change to be made.
