Both she and I know how we joke around with each other and mess with each other. It's not a big deal at all lol.

Oh and trust me she would have told me if she liked the other cars better.
We both voice our opinions on cars and what we like.
We both also know that everyone has their taste and can voice it in an un insulting way.
She would not make a joke such as that (if she was joking) out of bad intentions and I would never take it that way.

As far as the LS1. Yeah I think it would have beat me pretty much no matter what unless he had a bad driver error. He did not tell me what he had done but with the car but he never claimed it was stock.
With his knowledge, interest, and enthusiasm in vehicles I can hardly imagine it being stock. WE DID go from a dig on the LS1 if you read correctly.

I missed 3rd gear but he was already ahead of me by then.
I also had a slight spin of the tires and I admitted that I rarely race so I am sure he got a better jump than me. His demeanor was that of a person that knew what he was doing and had experience.
He was also very knowledgeable and polite at the same time.

I wasn't referring to you when I was talking about beating a stock LS1. It seems that most of the other stock S197's on here have never lost, period, much less to a lowly LS1.

You seem like a pretty nice guy and you at least have good grammar. That puts you higher than the "tits or gtfo" guys.

LOL. I got no problem admitting when a car beats me.
There's always someone faster.

I had a LT1 maro. I don't hate the maro. I am not fond of the catfish look but I know the LS1 is a solid engine.

Oh ... and I DID like the new body camaro till I went to my brothers dealership the other day and saw it in person.

I know that muscle cars are traditionally big and I actually like that.
(love it actually)

But to me the SHAPE of the camaro did not FIT how big it was.
It looked like a car that should have been designed small... or at least alot small-ER. And the body was so high up to the hood then the rest of it (windows to the top) was VERY short. Very odd to me.

I do like it better than the catfish and the retro styling I adore in all of these new cars coming out. The Camaro just missed it to me. No talking bad intented. I DO see how it could be very appealing and stylish to many people so it is in NO WAY a cut down. Who knows... maybe the look will grow on me more as time goes on. I would not mind having my stang, a new challenger srt8, and a camaro SS in my garage. OH yeah... it'd be even better if a new GT500 was there with em...

The numbers 98ls1 posted are about spot on ...250~255rwhp for an auto and 255~260rwhp manual (with some freak reports above that)... not exactly a weak setup. They really pale off the line compared to an S197 car though so giving up the dig was a bad bad thing. I think you would have taken the LT1 from a dig... but giving up your advantage was a big mistake IMHO.

The ls1 car is interesting but I would have to chalk it up to driver error... my LS1 car is 1 full second quicker and 10mph faster than either of my previous 2 LT1 cars.
Ahh, thanks for the info S8ER. That helps things make a bit more sense. Its nice to have people around here that know what they're talking about, lol!

My bad 98, wasn't trying to say you were wrong, I just didn't know what the deal was with the Vette. I always thought the LT1 Maro was a good drivers race for a New Edge, so I figured the LT1 vette would be a tad quicker, but still behind the S197. Sounds like the S197 and LT1 Vettes are a drivers race?
