Default Me vs. 06 Z06

Well I finally got a decent race! I've recently became friends with a guy that bought a race track out here in eastern Colorado that owns two 06 Z06 (505 horsepower, 6spd) corvettes. We've always talked about racing each other but he needed to get tires and I work for the shop that's sponsoring his track (http://www.coloradomotorsportspark.com/). So we put a set of 315/30/19's on it and we made plans to meet up at the track later on that night. So I get there and we're checkin out each other's cars and I talk him into racing me. We find a nice flat stretch of pavement on the frontage road and line em up. First race was from a stand still, 3 honks and we're off, I destroy him off the line (a friend of mine that was watching said that I had at least 30 feet on him off the launch), and around 85-90 mph I see him creeping up next to me, at 100 we were neck and neck and he was pulling on me pretty good, at 110 he had about a car length on me and we shut em down and turned around and he said he wanted to go again. So we did another race from a stop. Same situation, I killed him off the line and I see him start creeping up on me by about 85 and he stayed there until I let off at about 100 and we met up back at the track. He said that on the second race he missed third and he couldn't catch up once he got it back in gear. Needless to say he was a little surprised at the little 5.0 My boss was watching this all go down and he's a diehard chevy guy. He's always telling me that my car is a POS, maybe this will shut him up!

Well, glad you hung in there infront of your friends and all, but I'm sure you know, you only beat the driver. Very badly apparently.

Good power + stalled auto + tires....you're gonna nail him outta the hole.

EDIT: your boss is an idiot if he thinks that just because it has a blue oval on it it's junk. Should kick him in the nuts for being a fanboy.

Sounds like you had fun. Those C6 Zs are wicked.

Yeah I know I beat the driver for the most part. If he had a set of sticky tires on that beast or if we raced from a roll it would be a completely different story. What are they supposed to run in the 1/4 stock?

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I figured there would be a ton of bashing but it's been a long time since I've posted in here. I wanna race him again after I put on my 11 psi pulley again and some meth injection.

I agree. Better to beat the driver! OP Upping the boost should make you very formidable against a stock Z06 with your mods. Nice race.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.
