Default Ran a Challenger SRT8 & Mach 1 - Video - Timeslip

Finally got the chance to run a new SRT8... and I was pretty pumped about the results. I was so anxious to run him that I red lighted (barely), but I still ended up with a faster time than him. Here's the video with the timeslip and details:

I also saw the Challenger run a 9.05 so I know I didn't just catch him on a bad run.

I have an 07 GT with an intake/tune & 4.10 gears. I was manually shifting my automatic around 6500/6600 rpm. I'm on street tires.

I also ran an 04 Mach 1 with at least exhaust. My friends didn't catch that one on video, but I have the timeslip. Barely edged him out by .0002 haha.

He ran a 8.9616 and I ran a 8.9614. He would have got me in the 1/4. He had a 2.21 60' and I had a 2.14. He hit the traps at 82.30, I finished at 80.73.

I also beat some turbo'd Nissan's, but that's not really important.

dont manually shift your automatic, mine is auto as well and you can be Mario motherf***ing andretti and you still wont shift as good as it does when you drop it in "D" and let it rip... nice wins btw lol

I always thought the same thing until I tried it, Antonio. I know it won't shift any "faster" than it does in drive, but getting that extra 200/300 rpm out of each gear really helps. It took about 3 passes to get each shift timed perfectly. First I short shifted, next run I hit the rev limiter, next run was perfect and ever since that pass I've done it perfectly. Plus I chirp 4th gear when manually shifting... and that is just epic for an automatic that came from the factory. :P

lol true about chirping 4th haha... if you have a handheld you could still adjust your redline and the shiftpoints accordingly to do what your doing manually and make it perfect. Another thing is I wouldn't ever recommend going past 6750rpm without having the supporting mods in place you could hurt your engine if you rev too high. If you wanna jump to 7000rpm get some cams and then you'll really be moving!

Seriously? That didn't even come to mind. I always thought Doug would have that embedded in the tune. Next time I go to the track I'll bump it up to like 6550 and just leave it in drive. Thanks!

I hate to say it, but i HAVE To ask where you're located.

I've seen much better than a 8.9XX from STOCK GT's.

I usually don't call out near stock/stock S197's unless they talk some ****, which is what yo you seem to be doing. 8.9@81.X isn't much to be proud of, ESPECIALLY if you've got any seat time behind the wheel of the car.

Noice!

I wish I was as quick with my run in with an SRT-8 Challenger lol.

Ran a 14.5 (1/4) messing up the launch horribly!
