Default New PB!!!

Went out again tonight and finally got my setup down. I ran a 12.10 at 111.7 with a 1.64 60'. It was on my last run too. I ripped a couple 1.67's but missed third and missed 4th and still ran a 12.44. So, i knew i was going to get a new pb if i could just pull everything together i would do well. Last run went well, i actually broke out, i only dialed a 12.17. But, i was more than happy to head home.

I am convinced there is something wrong with the lasers that calculate trap speed. To only trap 111.7 and pull a 12.10 doesn't seem right. As i mentioned, at another track further away i was trapping 118 easy.

Good for you. Those traps are definitely off.

well done!

are you power shifting at all??? I'd think a bit more seat time and 11s are there. At least for me that's what it took.

throw your slips and details into the ET list sticky

Post up your slip with all the different times so we can analyze it.

With a 1.64 60' and a 112 trap speed, a 12.10 seems about right to me.
If you were doing 118 mph with that 60', I'd expect to see mid 11s, give or take.

I am starting to get the power shifting down. Right now i am only doing it 3rd-4th. I am loosing a litlle traction on the shift from 1st-2nd so i figure power shifting it will make it even worse. I know i can hit 11's with some more seat time. Sactown essentially has the same setup as me plus a cai and he has hit high 11's a couple times. So, i know it's possible.

The slips are up. I put up a slip from Sacramento to compare the traps. Last night there was a 16 mph head wind at infineon again, there always is. That is the only thing i can think it is other than the lasers being set different at the two tracks.

Ya but how the heck can a car making 440rwhp trap 112mph?

That's why dyno numbers don't mean anything. All I'm saying is that with his 60' time, a 12.10 makes sense with a 112 mph trap speed. If his car went through the beams trapping 116-118 mph, and he pulled a 1.64 60', I'd expect his ET to be around 11.5-11.6ish.

edit: not to mention dyno numbers are corrected. At the track, you have to deal with hot temps, humidity, head winds, driver error, heat soak, timing being pulled. I'm sure tuners make these cars very sensitive to heat since they are not forged blocks. Dyno's do 4th gear pulls to get a HP reading. At the strip, you are doing WOT in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, with a burnout at the begginning. Imagine the timing being pulled towards the end of the run!

Yes but I've never heard of a blown 3v trapping that low without missing a shift.

Second of all no way someone runs a 11.5/11.6 trapping 116-118 w/a 1.64 60'. That 60' is a bit faster and trap a couple mph slower then what Stkjock runs and his ET isn't close to that low.

I'm betting that the OP's trap would be in the 116-117 range. Also, how do explain him previously trapping 118mph? That's really hard to explain unless the other track was a mile above the current track and it was 110 degrees out.
