It's always great when you see a cop and you think for a second and say. G*d D*mn I'm glad I didn't just do what I was thinking about doing.

I was lucky the other day when I got pulled over for speeding. I would say I was doing 15-20 over in a 35 side street to a residential area. No actual houses on that road. Warning, was 12:30am on my way home from an extended shift at work >.<.

Happened to me. I just merged onto the freeway and I'm behind a Charger R/T. After only a few seconds I see headlights coming up on me in the rearview mirror. I drop a gear and go flying by the charger to keep pace with the car coming up on us. Then I see the charger coming up on us (thought he wanted to play too) ...wrong, dude lights me up.

He says to me "this thing really moves out" I say yeah, she runs pretty good. Then I say, why did you pull me over, that honda flew by both us us. He says I can't get everyone. So, I'm still bitching a little bit about him not getting the honda...he say's ok, tell ya what, if you haven't been drinking and have no warrants, we're done here. He let me go and said to me "slow down turbo".

geez, I can see the 50 page thread now on the honda forum of how some kid smoked a stang and because the stang was so slow, he got pulled over by the cops

edit: imagine how many of us would be posting the same thing in here!

I know this is a very inmature thing to say but why pull over if your clipped doing 120. Your already F*@ked. Why not put the pedal to the floor and go! Hit the first exit you come to and take him down some country road where you have a huge handling advantage. Motor trend did a story once on police cruizers and it took a Miata 58 seconds to loose a cruizer on a road that involved alot of turns and the cruizer lost sight of an Evo in 35 seconds.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

I wouldn't stop, but I'm an idiot so don't follow my advise. I figure if you pass a cop at 120, by the time he gets going I'll already be well out of sight and can turn off somewhere. I've done it a time or two, but actually had one call my house afterwards cause he had my plate number (long story on how he got it).

The worse part about running of course is the danger, but from a legal standpoint, if you get clocked at 120 mph and go ahead and pull over, its merely a careless and reckless/speeding charge depending on your state. If you run in S.C for example, its a felony. Once those lights come on and you don't stop its considered failure to yield or fleeing and thats not good. Back in the 80's, S.C troopers would open fire on you for running considering its a felony and a threat to others lives. They don't do that anymore.
Just talking here, so nobody take this too seriously, lol!
