Really? I can nail 130 on the way to and from work everyday if I wanted...it really doesn't take much to hit that speed. Pushing to 150+ takes some room though... brakes drop in efficiency BIG time after the 120 mark from my experiences and it can get scary.

I've pushed my 89 to a tad over 140 and it was suprisingly solid at those speeds, but like you said S8, I wouldn't trust the brakes to make any type of effective stop. That is just like any empty straight highway when I'm alone kind of thing.

Yea, if there are any cars around, I try not to go too far past 100. I only really take it up to the 140 range if it's pretty wide open, or at least enough room to stop.
