point being what are the odds of both lanes timing equipment being off, and both being off similar amounts
I'm really still confused on how the timing equipment in one lane is effecting the timing equipment in the other or what the other car has to do with this car? The odds are better that one lane is off(not two) and that translated into the GT500 running similar times to what ever was in the other lane. Just because they ran similar times does not mean that there was or was not an error. All things being equal, wouldn't the odds of the timing equipment being off in one lane and resulting in similar times be the exact same as both cars actually running very similar times. Either way the chances are rare.
Still, I was merely suggesting that maybe the equipment was off. It's only human to try to find some sort of logical explanation for something that I can't understand. That is, a 1.68 '60 with those undersized 275mm Goodyear's that the GT500 came with from the factory.

Exactly, the '10 GT500 has the same revised intake and tune that the KR's came with in '08/'09. Factory rated at 540hp versus 500hp in the '07-'09 GT500's.
the only issue I have with the way the 60' felt was the slight bog off the line. When it bogged I panicked and floored it and it didn't spin. So in that sense I think it's possible, but I still am skeptical it's possible on factory rubber. I melted them on the burnout a fair amount.
The second gear powershift was a bad idea as it caused a spin that lasted all of 2nd gear I think. But not out of control spin... it still accelerated hard with my foot to the floor
Big end felt fast but I didn't glance at the speedo as I usually try to so??
If I can even get it in the 11's next outing then I think it was real. Now if I dont go faster than my normal hot engine 12.4x then you can delete this thread LOL

Ya after reading his thread I feel the same way. He said he ran 2 other passes after that. Wouldn't you think he would be able to tell if his 11.6 run was better then his next two?
No way in hell anyone pulls a 1.6x short time on a 275 run of the mill street tire.
This is 99% likely.
Even the guy who ran his time is thinking that it's possible it was an error.
Like he said in his post, if he goes back out and cracks off constant 12.4's and up then he'll know it was a fluke, and indeed not really a real mid 11 second pass.
I'd think that the cars are capable of VERY low 12's when driven perfectly which is just another reason I don't think the time is right. He said it did not feel as good as some of his others, yet came out with almost a full second improvement.
I could tell a difference between my 1.9 60' when I finally achieved it and the 2.1's that I'd been running all evening. Even more of a difference when I went 1.8.
Someone pulling a 1.6 when they're likely running 1.9's and 2.0's all evening is going to KNOW something special is happening.
