I'm kinda interested as to how much power a mild setup 331/blower car would make. The only ones I've ran across have been on motor alone and fully gutted cars. Even those ran similar times to my car when I only made 367rwhp and 400'ish rwtq in my old car. Good buddy of mine actually had one and he could only muster a 7.5'ish on a 1.5x short time.

Good run, OP. I could tell in the video it took him a second or two to build up boost, either that or get in his powerband... however you want to look at it.

I thought the Fox did pretty good. If your trapping 120 mph, and he was still able to creep on you, that says a lot for his 331. I think he has a lot left on the table though, whether it be different heads, cam, etc.

It's obviously one of those POS built strokers that's barely making 300rwhp N/A. Sad.

he is running on 10 psi and 100 octane all the time. Makes in the 420-440 rwhp neighborhood. Haven t had it to the 1/4th but he trapped anywhere from 98-100 in the 1/8th.

83gt, its not reasonable to draw that conclusion.

10 PSI is nice, but nothing crazy. A 331 using 302 parts will make 302 power, sure, but how does that make it a POS or sad? IMHO, that guy put together a soild ride. He pulled on a 420 RWHP T/A while making similar numbers! Not everybody can toss the coin at "top-notch" parts. Nor does everybody want to spend the coin on high end parts. There's a lot to be said about realiblity and longivity. Im damn sure he enjoys his car, and doesn't lose any sleep thinking "I should be making another 25RWHP. Im a failure!"

Nice run OP. I dig the T/A and the Fox. Badass

Unless I missed it, boost pressure is unkown. A 331 using 302 parts will make 302 power, sure, but how does that make it a POS or sad? IMHO, that guy put together a soild ride. As JT said above, he runs 10lbs and makes between 420rwhp-440rwhp. To be honest, with a well built N/A 331/347 you would be able to run dead nuts even with JT's LS1 off spray. If you do the math, 420rwhp - 10lbs of boost = bad numbers for a 331. He's definitely not using the proper head and valvetrain combo for that displacment. Maybe "sad" was a strong word but the Fox owner is leaving alot on the table.

Yea, this 331 is anything but slow. Definitely a handful to run with the OP like it did. With that said, there is a ton left in that car with the right combo. Its not running at its maximum potential by a long shot.

That's my point, he could be pushing low 11's or less with the right heads and cam with 10lbs. The cars still extremely fast as is.

We're definitely on the same page, one of the two is holding him back. Although, it could be that he just didn't want to go that aggressive, who knows. If it were me though, I would've over built the engine, then cut back on the boost (or whatever I needed to in order to stay streetable/conservative. This is all speculation of course concerning the OP's opponent .
