yeah it was an 80's 350, deffnitly modded, she had a nce rumble, i'm a big chevy fan, but it wasn't anything special. he had a good 2/3 second start on me, and then i had the 3.73's. so.. felt pretty good about it.
most of the 80's Monte Carlo SS' actually came with a 305... trust me, I was there, I'm old...
Ah, thanks for the correction. To be honest, about every SS that I've encountered at the track has been so modded that whatever came in it stock was long gone, lol. My brother and I had an old 76-78 305 Nova when we were teens. It wasn't an SS, but it was a 2 door. Can you say slowwww! It would do a nasty brake assisted burnout, and sounded good too, but I remember getting ripped apart by a 5.0 SN95, NA RX7, and a late 80s TA all in the same night. I'm not sure if the 80s SS Monte Carlos have the same/similar 305 or not, but if they did I feel for them.

The brand new ones have the same engine as the Impala SS, right? 303 hp?
I dusted one from a dig the other day. Saw him coming up behind me in and out of traffic so I figured he'd want some. We stopped at a light together, and I looked over and gave him a rev. He wouldn't look at me, didn't do anything so I wasn't sure what he was gonna do but I was ready just in case. As soon as it turned green I heard his tires squirch and I hammered it. Pulled pretty good on him in every gear lol.
