thats what i was thinking. He said it was a lightly modded 07 and i had just about every bolt-on short of an electric water pump that you could get.

morbid, i agree. i have never heard of a charger SRT-8 running 12's in stock trim, but i have heard of Jeep SRT-8's running 12's. i guess that AWD really helps that puppy launch

SRT8s have run 12s in stock trim, but it's not something that happens normally. All the runs I have seen of high 12 runs were with basic optioned SRT8s (Chargers/300s) in beyond perfect weather and great track prep and the drivers were great. It's happened, but I wouldn't go worrying about it though.

I kind of wish they made all the SRT8s AWD with the same setup as the Jeeps (so long as they offset the weight of the AWD system by dropping an equal amount of weight off the vehicle in other areas so there wasn't a weight penalty in an already porky platform). Or at least have made it an option.

the 300 SRT-8 is AWD isnt it? i believe that thing weighs more than the Charger too but is faster. It would have been a great option but i think that in that case, the price would have shot up quite a bit as well. i think those buyers would have opted for the Chrysler instead due to the performance as well as the luxury upgrade.

Nope, only SRT8 that's AWD is the Jeep. They make 5.7 AWD Chargers and 300s.

People always claim the 300 is faster, but I have yet to see it. (I will say more 300s are modded than Chargers... No clue why though, both vehicles are mostly owned by old upper middle class dudes so money isn't an issue...), also my buddies fully optioned 300 weighs 100lbs more than my fully Optioned Charger, so the weight thing doesn't jive either.

that is very interesting. you'd think that they would offer the high end trim in an AWD especially if they are making the smaller engine AWD.
