It was silver but it had the red fender stripes, I think some of the 96's with the 6 speed came with LT4's instead of the LT1. The car was immaculate and appeared entirely stock aside from the exhaust so Id imagine it was more than likely an all original LT4 car.

ORX is too raspy IMO, I actually need to put my orh back on. I only put the catted pipe on to pass inspection, it sounds just plain mean with the h on there.

Yeah the Grand Sports were blue with white striping though... 99% sure that was the only way they came... and they only made 1000 of them someone would have to be pretty insane to repaint it the wrong colors.

Yea thats right I forgot the grand sports had that special color scheme, definetly wasnt a grand sport. Super nice car though, it wouldve sucked if I came across him on the highway he probably wouldve blown my doors off with that 6 speed, better aerodynamics, and the LT4's increased top end over the LT1.

The more i think about this it actually makes sense.

A couple of weeks ago my buddy raced a stock 1991 ZRI Corvette. They were rated around 375 fwhp if i remember right. My buddy has a HCI 95 Cobra that makes 305 rwhp. They raced from about 30-120 (which is the top of 4th for the Cobra) and were dead even.

Funny thing is my buddy and i are almost always dead even as well...with him barely winning like 70% of the time.

Now i'm guessing a LT4 might be a tad slower than a ZR1, but i can now see how the op did so well.

Correct. My buddy has a '96 LT4 Vette and with just a little exhaust work has gone 13.3 @ 108 with pretty much no traction. Nice run.

All '96 Grand Sports were Blue with a white stripe, and the red hash marks on the fender. They were all 6-speeds, and all of them were LT4's.

All 6-Speed '96 Corvettes got LT4 Engines. Not just the Grand Sports. A Silver '96 is a Collector Edition. The red stripe on the fender is not from the factory. All LT4 cars had the Grand Sport name plate on the intake. Alas, this did not make them Grand Sports.

I have personally been 13.50's in a '96 LT4 car. They actually did pretty well back then.

So basically it was a run between a high 13 second car against a mid 13 second car and it probably turned out the way it shouldve. Id imagine a mid 13 car wouldnt pull more than a car/car and a half up to 80 against a high 13 car.
