Default So a new Camaro tries to race me this afternoon...

AND I WASN'T IN MY MUSTANG!

I have a crappy old beater truck with a hole in the exhaust that I hardly ever drive, but I happened to be on a home depot run. I end up at a light next to a new SS, and when it turns green I go. I guess he took my loud, crappy exhaust note as a sign of aggression and floored it. Why couldn't I have been in the mustang??? I would've dusted him! Oh, well. It's for the best, I suppose. I haven't done any racing off of the track in many years, but it might have been hard to resist if I were in my car...

that is a shame.. sometimes I floor it in my car just because i like to feel the acceleration.. not necessarily because im racing the person next to me.. a lot of the time i'll roll out a little bit so i can get that shoved back in the seat feeling.. might have been what the camaro guy was doing.. I need to get a beater truck for home depot runs myself.. getting plywood and trim and stuff in my mustang isn't fun

HAHA! Priorities....you lack them.

I still don't really get that sucked to the seat feeling when I'm driving a car. If I'm riding in a car, even a 13 second one, it feels stronger than what I feel when I'm driving, even in my Vette. Anyone that rides in my car says it pins them to the seat, but I have never got that feeling while driving. IDK, I might just be weird....

I've given 3 people back aches from riding in my Cobra when it hooks on the street on DR's.

My G/F actually had a back ache for 2 days....

<-- this is great ROFL

that's because your car is slow 98ls1

just bought a house.. and a bunch of tools..lawnmower.. going to remodel the house instead of buying a truck.. luckily I have friends/family.. and $30 is an all day truck rental from u-haul I think i have my priorities in line.. now if I S/C'd my car and left my house alone then... i'd have some priorities out of whack.. and work is going to get me a Ford Escape 1st quarter 2010.. so.. dont really want 3 vehicles for 1 person anyway

Speaking of that getting sucked back into your seat feel. Based on my (limited) experience so far, a person is going to need a LOT of power if you want to truly be pushed back hard, almost violently, into the seat. Even 400whp isn't gonna come close to it IMO. I've been in cars with well over 450whp and sure it pulled but I could still easily lean forward if I wanted to.

You'll need a TON of power to win the old "can you grab the $50 bill off the dash" test.

I can't speak for anyone else but my car feels pretty weak to me. Sure it blows my Honda away. But my friend's STI with that little turbo still feels like it pulls harder. Subjective opinion there ofcourse.

Yeah, but this guy was in full douche mode. He left the light slowly, and then when I left the light he floored it. If only I were in my car...
