Default S197 vs Cobalt SS/TC 298WHP/365WTQ (crappy cell phone video for proof)

So this guy joined our local forum a few months back. He posted up and was a tee bit cocky...

He has intake, hp tuners, and a catless exhaust. Put down I believe he said, 298WHP / 365 WTQ. He said his tune holds 22psi, and spikes to 30 occasionally?

Heres a few shots of his car:

Yes... those are neons

He finally came out tonight with his girl. Wanted to do some pulls. Asked me if its a v6 or v8. Said I must have a bad plug cause it won't idle smooth

Anyways heres the results.

40 Rolls: (dont bitch about the video quality lol. Best I could do on short notice)

Comments. I think the GT held its own tonight for only having 12 more RWHP along with 54 less WTQ and having close to 500-600lbs disadvantage. He was shifting fairly quickly as well with their new fancy no-lift-shift software built in

More crappy cell videos to come

Great race. Pretty much dead even. As far as only having a 12rwhp advantage, I think this video again reiterates the fact you were on the worlds most conservative dyno.

I made 315.5 with smoothing at 5(320 with smoothing at 0. My 310 is at 0 as well) on another dynojet around here. But I'd rather keep my 310 posted to be the underdog. Rather be modest than cocky

Yea, that was close, much closer than I thought it would be. I was honestly expecting him to inch on you some the faster you guys went. I have nothing but respect for those turbo Balts. Great run man, just goes to show that the Ol' dyno isn't gospel.

Exactly...

I was expecting to lose as well. He got out saying wait till his new turbo goes in. I said, if you upgrade that, we are going from a dig. He said his car is good from a dig so he is down. He ran a 13.9 @ 109 early this summer. I dont think I have too much to worry about as long as we dont go above 120

13.9 at 109 shows some traction issues.... just don't tell him that, lol. Let him think going from a dig is good!

He was having troubles with traction from a 40 roll.... lol

I'll bring out the Mickeys and heat them up before the race if i must. Although, I will still most liekly get a commanding lead with just my street tires

yeam i've always through your numbers were a bit on the conservative side( and that you need headers lol) But anyway! Good run... looked like he was inching closer at the end right before you let off. Those things are a handful up top.

30psi spike? That seems pretty high, how much can those little ecotecs handle? I know they're strong but 30 without being tuned for it seems exessive! He's gonna send a rod through his block!

I think it's BS. That thing would be making way more 298rwhp at that pressure. Something is seriously wrong if he is spiking 30psi.

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction.
