Default Bolt-on/Geared s197 vs Camaro SS

I took the exit to my house after a 3 hour drive home, and i spot one of the newer camaro's merging on to the highway.. i went out of my way, got infront of him and took off a little to see if he would bite.. he did.

We got onto the highway and i roll my window down and ask for a 40 roll. Dude rolls his window down, has his kid in the passenger seat, but agrees. We get it down to 45-50 and he honks it off. I pulled half a car on him and held it firmly till 110,... as he was about to pull on me HARD, we ran into traffic..his car seemed stock but might have had mufflers..nothing major. Those things def have beastly top end. I need boost!

Nice race. Seams like everyone on the mustang forums has beat a new SS this week.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Especially those with less mods than the OP. I know the OP is a pretty good driver too from what I can gather from his old racing vids.

Wonder if those other races, the SS was really racing, or just messing around.

Great race though OP! The SS Camaro is in range for what your car should run with both parties being good drivers.

I think the biggest thing here is that the OP and the SS he ran went from a roll. I ran my guy from a dig, and he was an auto, etc. I would give the edge to a geared GT from a dig up to a certain speed.

Possibly.

Little example is, my friend with an 07 V6, with a blower, running pretty rich(he gets like 12 MPG on the street) beat one to 90 MPH and the Camaro could not pull one bit.

It was an Auto SS, but, he knows full well if the guy was not going sideways through half the race, and actually hooked and floored it, he would get beat.

He beat it yes, but doesn't hold it as a "Real" win, and knows what would happen if the Camaro had somewhat better tires.

The one I ran didn't spin much. I watched him very closely, mainly because I was more interested in what his car was all about, more so than my own, lol. He spun for a second, but hooked pretty good. His SS just couldn't pull from a dig as well as mine, but I do have a couple key mods to give me the edge (4.10s/LCAs). I jumped him from a dig and managed to inch ahead on each shift. Thats to be expected when one guy (me) is power shifting and the other is running a torque managed automatic though. Basically every S197 vs SS/Kill thread that has popped up recently has been a modded GT running a stock SS. Thats the key thing here, modded versus stock.

One of the other races too, was a full bolt on GT(or mostly full).

Good runs there ali. Im sure if you run one from a dig it will be much better for you , especially with those 4.10's!
