I hear ya. My goal was 10s also but this damn economy really did a number on my drag racing budget this year. Good luck on 9s next year.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

There's A LOT more than peak dyno numbers that go into running a fast time.

I'm making nearly 200rwhp less than that GT500 and run similar times. Weight has the most to do with it, in this case, as I'm sure both cars have great power curves. A lot of cars make great power, but they only do for a short span. Say they make peak power, let's say 600rwhp, between 7500-7800 rpm. The curve doesn't start peaking til 6500. That car would struggle against a 450rwhp car making 450rwhp from 4-7k rpm.

Does that even make sense?....
No im in tulsa oklahoma. Heres a few pics of the car.

Looks great. Not a fan of removing the passenger seat, but if you're gonna race it, why not? What DR is that? Looks like a Nitto.

I only asked if you were from Texas because of the motor.

Oh yea, lol at the radar detector.

I think the GT500 also has to deal with IRS and a 6-speed, not exactly ideal for drag racing.

How do you like the trans your running? Has it been good to you so far? I ask because I went through two of them before I got one that held.
Ever since I ditched the stock tranny Ive had this one and Its held up perfect not a single problem. It has alittle over 5k miles on it. Im thinking about going to a th400 because I dont know if this tranny will be able to take the abuse of repeated 9's runs which is where I intend to be next year on spray after a few more small modifications.

In this picture I dont have the passenger seat in but its back in the car, just wasn't in the picture. Im running MT et street radials in the back. They're 275/60/15 if im not mistaken, 28" inches tall. They've held up pretty nice.

The guy with the GT500 had his wife video tape the run so Im having her make a copy of it for me. Ill post it as soon as I get it.

I wasnt really planing on it doing this. But after talking to a guy I know I'm seriously thinking about swappin in a th400 with a trans brake, getting a heavy duty sway bar/pan hard rod, and shedding about 3 to 400lbs and see if I cant make my car run 10.50's or better on motor and mid 9's on spray. Its a thought I had for this winter.
