Default ran a cobb stage 2 wrx

this happined last week but i forgot uto post it up. anyway my buddy recently got a 03 i believe stage 2 cobb wrx. not exactly sure what the stage 2 consists of but whatever haha. big fart can, tune, intake, runnin 19 psi on stock turbo. so he calls me up and wants to know if i wana go for a little run on the highway and of course i say yes. get on the highway, 2nd gear roll, he beeps 3 times and i put 2 cars on him real fast till i let off at the top of 3rd. second run we went from a 3rd gear roll, he beeps, and i put another 2 easy cars on him till i let off mid way through 4th. 3rd run we cant a light. now im thinkin oh man, this is a awd car and i have my crap street tires on so it could b a close race. ligt turns green and i was gone! this guy was never ahead of me for even a second. i had a easy 3 cars on him by 3rd gear. the car is a real nice clean car and sounds awesome but i think he needs to learn how to drive a little better or get some more mods. these runs were all motor runs, no spray.

In my experience it will be very close off the bottle.

Now if the STi has a protune? That could be a totally different matter. A protuned STi has usually 20-40 hore HP, and significantly more TQ

protune? is that the open source tuning software? because people have been getting awesome results off of that.. free tunes online.. wish we had that for the mustang

In my experience the Stage 2 STI would be close with him on the bottle... with the open source tune. I'm a member on a couple of subaru forums hehe

Just for reference. One of the local subaru guys has a stage 2 wrx and ran a 13.7 at the track. Mishri was a couple tenths better than him with his current mods. I'm pretty sure a aggresively driven stage 2 scoob would beat a stock s197.

Actually stage 2 is usually a turbo back exhaust and a tune at least. A full stage 2 would probably be something like TBE, uppipe, accessport(tune), and an intake. They can make something like 240-250 awhp.

Good run OP. It'll take that guy a little while to learn how to launch, but you should still be able to handle him no problem.
