Default SS owner goads me into a race then bolts

So a little earlier I was hanging out with my buddy with a bolt on, cammed LS1 Firehawk in a parking lot, just BSing since I havent seen him in a while when a new auto SS camaro rolls up. The car was all black and he had the stock rims painted black. He revs up what I can only assume was the stock car and it sounds pretty good for being stock. He looks over and asks whose driving the POS mustang. I say I am and ask why he wants to know. He tells me his car can smoke any type of mustang, and says he hasn't beaten a 5.0 yet and wants to. After listening to him for a few more minutes I finally agree. My buddy with the Firehawk gets in his car and gets his camera ready to film it. We go to a good stop light in the area where no one really drives after work hours and line them up. I had turned my bottle heater on as soon as I left the lot so the pressure was good at about 1050 PSI, so I hit the purge to clear the line just incase any air or vapor was in there. I guess after seeing this the guy decided he didn't wanna go because he made the right and just floored it outta there. I pulled back to where my friend was and asked him WTF that was about, but he couldn't answer because he was laughing his ass off. I really wanted to see how my car would stack up against a new SS, now I gotta wait more. I haven't even got a chance to run it at the track yet because of either work or the weather, but hopefully next week looks better.

Omg, thats seriously funny, lol! I guess the guy was pretty terrified of a loss. Hell, although I know you would destroy me, I would still run you for the sheer thrill of it. I don't get some people.

No he just pulled up and started talking ****. It's not like I even knew who the guy was. He also told my friend with the Firehawk he would rip his car too. The Firehawk is cammed with a good amount of boltons and throws down something like 410-420 whp. We both just laughed.

Stone, don't count yourself out yet, I'll see what kind of numbers it puts up next wednesday weather permitting.

I might be 5 and 0 with the 86 and the spray, but don't get me wrong, I really wanted to see how my car would stack up. I was honestly hoping for a really good/close race. For the most part I just blow people away off the line and try to make them catch up while I spray and take off. I wanted a challenge dammit.

I would've loved to see that one play out. I think you would have got him tough

I can pretty much tell you that the SS you tried to race is no match for you from a dig. No way in hell, imo. From a roll.... that would most definitely be interesting.

shouldn't have purged it.

you should have cleared the line's on the way out, by spraying in first gear for a short burst 2-3 times.

that way he would have never known.

Do that for now on if you think someone is going to get scared of the purge.
