Default 99 GT VS 06 Cobalt SS/SC

Don't know how fast these cobalt sc's run but my buddy has an 06 Cobalt SS/SC with GM stage 2 kit and magnaflow catback on street tires. I have a 99 GT with bolt on's, 4.30's, 3400 stall, and slicks skinnies and some weight reduction. We went to mexico and did only one race from a dig. Right away i was 2 cars ahead of him at launch (claims he gets bad wheelhop) and ended up pulling at least 5-6 car lengths on him. He needs some suspension and better tires bad. He really wanted to roll race but i never have and never will roll race. Now i need some N20.

The End.

Good run OP. I'm not 100% positive, but I think the stage 2 can run a mid 13. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't doubt he had wheel hop. There's no way he's ever going to hang with you from dig, not without more power, mounts, and some sticky tires, etc. I'm curious how close it would've been from a roll though.

Would've been alot more favorable for him im sure. I don't race from a roll, just something i dont believe in. Plus i'd never give up my advantage of being decent off the line.

They definitely have enough trap for mid 13s......but most dont have enought traction.

Real nice kill. I've seen em run 13.5s on street tires with a stage2 and a few suporting mods. Quick little cars and your right it would have been a real battle from a roll.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Yeah they are ~320whp 365ft-lbs+ with a tune and bolt-ons. Though don't over look the SC it can put down the same times on the stock blower (properly modded, though it's really best to go with aftermarket FI). Fastest time on stock blower is 12.3@114. Not crazy times though not bad for a crappy fire pants Eaton.

Yeah, it has a 4.05 FD and the power starts low in the RPM'S. Without mounts and decent tires/ or being easy with it in first you can forget about a dig.

Yeah, the fastest Stg 2 SS/SC (other bolt-ons, still on the stg 2 pulley and injectors) I have seen was a 13.2 @ 106. He swapped the pulley down to a 2.85 and with a race gas tune ran a 12.75 @ 108.9. Stage 2 is really a bad deal when you can get a much better aftermarket stg kit for cheaper.

Anyways OP I don't see him hanging at all from a dig. I had a full bolt-on (pretty much) NE GT with 4:10's and from 0-70 I can tell the GT was faster, though from 40~100 the SC has the edge. I'm just STG2 with bolt-ons.

Nice kill man!!! From a dig he wouldnt have a shot unless he had some suspension mods and slicks. And so far the fastest stock turbo Cobalt SS/TC is 11.9.

Hey Perfect, you see what ZZP is doing with the SS/TC?
