Default Bolt-on/Geared S197 vs C5 Z06

My buddy and i were headed to a movie, and were running 10-15 mins late already, were on a pretty empty street and our turn comes up, as im slowing down and turn my signal on i see vette lights in my rear view mirror, as im about to turn onto the street he gets on it, i couldn't resist and had to miss my turn and go straight behind him

We almost had a badass dig run, but a fking minivan had to take up a lane, so he hopped behind me.. i rolled out slow and let him get besides me. We did a 1st gear roll, i pulled half a car on him for a second, but he caught it quick and put half a car on me up until around 70mph when he slowed down and turned in somewhere... didn't get to talk to the guy, but i think he had atleast a catback on it, it sounded fantastic.

Overall, it was a sick ride and i wish i could have ran him longer!

Nice run. I wonder how nasty it would have gotten at those higher speeds lol

Normally From a roll, you're going to need at least 25% more power than the Vette in order to be a challenge. Good job

Those C5 Zs are pretty nasty from a roll. Good runs, and like acartz said, the higher you guys went, the worse I think it would got for ya. No reason to back down though.

Thanks guys.. i know those things pull HARD up top, but i don't think my cars a slouch either.. atleast till 115-120

Believe it or not, Ive beat a couple of c6 vettes on the highway. One auto, one m6.

I would have liked to see the outcome against the c5 because when i shifted to 2nd is when he got the jump on me, and when i hit 3rd i DID gain some ground back on him.. sucks that he just hits the brakes during the race to turn in somewhere lol. I'm not saying i would have beat him, hell, even caught up to him, but i would have liked to see how close i could get

Nice race against the C5Z. Hard to imagine you betting C-6s on the highway considering they are a few hundred pounds lighter and probably put 30 or 40 more horses to the wheels. No accounting for drivers however.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Hard to mess up in an automatic though.....but ****, the S197 seems to romp on all as of lately. Who knows.

I'm just hoping I don't run into one with cam's or something. I could be in for it.

Good run OP. I love the C5 Z06. They make really good power.

I'll tell you what I think it is... I think that its pretty much a case of drivers with much more experience, running at the track, practicing, researching, etc, versus guys with slightly/much faster cars that pretty much just DD them with an occasional run from a stoplight or roll. Driver mod in other words.
