Default C5 Z06... Round 2!

Some of you may recall a while back I ran a C5 Z06 and I slowly pulled him.

Well I think I found that exact same Z06...

This time he had no passenger... and we got 2 legit runs.

I got next to him and honked it off at 60. I was in second and went on honk 3 I pulled him through the rest of second and got his front bumper at my rear bumper... but then I NAILED my rev limiter like a jackass he cruised on by as I went into 3rd lol I gave up part way through 3rd, I think I made it to 100. I was rather dissappointed lol BUT.. I got a second chance...

This time we slowed to 50 and I honked it off again... went from second again. This time he seemed to have got a better start as I didn't pull as hard but I put his front bumper at my rear wheel. Went for 3rd at about 80 and he started creeping up on me and got his rear bumper to my front bumper by about 100 and I shut it down after that.

Not sure why I pulled him like I did in 2nd... guess he was too lazy to shift down an other gear? Or maybe my second gear is just that awesome and 3rd gear blows? lol

Cliffs: Ran a C5 Z06 50-100, I pulled through 2nd, he pulled through 3rd and had me at his bumper by 100.

Do you have a hidden S/C you are not telling us about, or a 150 shot?

Acartz, something is wrong with that run, man. I definitely wouldn't be blaming the Z06 on that one. That car should of left you, bad.

Well he did beat me... i'm thinking he could have started in a lower gear, so he started out of his power band, which is why I pulled him at first, and then he caught up and passed me when he was into/getting into his powerband. I dunno, but that's how the race went down. Unless it wasn't a Z06. It definitely didn't sound modded, either way. And I never heard him shift the whole time.

I wouldn't nee a 150 shot to get beat by a 385hp vette...

They are mid to high 12 seconds cars. If he would have started in his powerband then he would have beat me by more... but from 50 to 100, and starting out of his powerband he was only able to just get a head of me. It wasn't a very long race.. i'm sure from a dig to 100 it would have been worse, or if he was in a lower gear. But that's not what happened.

Ok but you keep forgetting one thing... LS motor = your death from a roll

Interesting. Your trapping 106. DA corrected of course and a C5 Zo6 will trap around 115 to 116 but only beat you by a car. Driver must have started in 5th or something.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Yes you would need at least a 125-150 shot to make up for not just the power difference, but the 400 or so pounds of weight it has on you. PLENTY of c5z's have run 11's with good driving and as BB said, they trap 115-116 with good driving which is plenty to take your lightly modded GT from a roll.
