TL Type-S 1 - 300C SRT8 0
Probably going to be a lot of deserving BS on this one, but since I'm a regular here you guys know I've got nothing to prove
Last night I was heading over to my ex's house to "hang out" when I caught a couple of lights with a 300C SRT8. Some middle-aged guy was driving it. There was no traffic in front of us, and at the first light he like staged almost, he was jumping forward trying to catch the light when it turned green. He gets a jump but doesn't slam on the gas, just takes off normally... I wasn't sure if he was willing to race or not so I paced him all the way to the next light. At the next light he does the same thing, so I disable TC and the climate control and left it in automagic mode. Sure enough he takes off HARD and puts his rear bumper at my nose. I slam on the gas from a roll, chirp tires shifting into second, and start to pull on him. When my rear bumper was at HIS nose, he must have let off because I put several bus lengths on him up to about 75-80mph.
There is no good reason why I should have won this race, but he was DEFINITELY trying...his engine was screaming. This car impresses me the more I own it. I'm still consistently running Amsoil in it and the VTEC engine seems to love it. I just switched back to 5w20 for the winter (I run 5w30 in the summer for the heat protection since it gets so hot here) and my powerband feels noticeably smoother and the car seems to rev quicker. At almost 73,000 miles (yes, on an 07... I drive a lot!) I feel like it's just getting broken in
Before too many BS flags get flown, please refer to my 335i thread here:

I felt I did pretty well against that car, so it would line up that I would hang with this one. My only performance mods right now are a hacked intake silencer and a welded in Magnaflow resonator.

i dont understand. your other thread says you lost to a 335i but you think that you will beat a 300c srt-8 cause you almost beat a 335i.
300c srt8 has 425hp, 0-60 in 4.7sec, 1/4 mile in 13.2@109
335i has 300hp, 0-60 in 4.9sec, 1/4 mile in 13.6@105
not calling bs but that srt8 is faster than the 335i.
either way, good run. i know anything can happen on the streets

I love those TL-S's. Very well rounded cars, imo. Not sure what happened on the SRT-8s end though. Could you of heard him if he was spinning, WRX? Maybe he eased out of it. Then again, maybe you simply hung in there for whatever reasons. Either way, you got an excuse to make that TL move!

The road was a little damp from the sprinklers from the medians so he may have been spinning, but it was mostly dry and I was spinning some too....the only tires I heard squealing were mine. Maybe he was caught in a bad gear, once I hit 2nd and 3rd was when I really started pulling, those are my two strong spots
And haha thanks Stone! Yeah I do so much normal commute style driving that I rarely get to open the car up, so it was a fun excuse for me to let loose a little bit! Even if I lost I would have been ok with it... those SRT8s are pretty sweet cars and his engine sounded badass!
