Tonight I went out to the track and ran my fourth and fifth runs ever. I ran a 14.1 last time at 101.9 as my best run, and I added UDP's this time. I haven't had a tune since adding a couple things, and I know that would help. Not to mention some seat time would really help. My first run tonight was 14.1 at 101 with a 2.2 60'. My second run was 13.7 at 103 with a 2.1 60'. Not too bad of a gain for only two runs, and only my fourth and fifth runs ever on a track.
P.S. AmericanSpeed was out there tonight running, and he was a really cool guy. Hopefully I'll see ya out there again. Thanks for the advice too!

What was the weather like? It's been warm here lately, so if it was warmer and more humid there, then you didn't do too badly for being on street tires.

13.20's with 2.25-2.30 60's, 40+ year old suspension sucks!
Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.

meh, it's getting to the season now where things like that don't matter... it's always a happy median in the fall
if it's too cold your tires won't hook but your engine will make more power.... if it's a little warmer your engine won't make as much power but you will hook better
it's a give and take aspect when it's not the dead of summer IMO
Nice improvement!! Where did you feel like your weak points were?
Thanks! I still think my launch could use some improvement. I feathered the clutch out to slowly, so I know I can prob still get a couple tenths off the sixty. From there I think it's really just the car. There were a couple mustangs running high 12's, but I dunno there mods. I figured with some experience I should be around there.

I think it was prob in the 70's last night, so not the coolest. Americanspeed said it still wasn't a great night and was still kind of warm.

Nice meeting you out there. You did damn well for only your second visit to the track. You will easily pick up a few more mph once it actually gets cold (last night was mid to low 70s) and drops into the 50s-low 60s. I only hit just over 118 mph on my last run (short 30 minute cool down), we def didn't have optimal weather.
No doubt you have some room to grow with your 60. You did a great job of not getting over zealous at the line. Now you just need to add a little more rpm and ride the clutch a tad longer so you don't get that little bog. That all comes in time with practice. You need to keep coming to the track now and get that seat time and once the really cold weather comes, you'll be ready to rip off that bad @ss run.
I know one of the other mustangs out there that was running high 12s is on a 100 shot (on street tires).
The reality is that running in the 13's in a typical V8 car with street tires in ACTUAL(not ideal) weather isn't all that easy. A lot of the time when I'm at the track there are a LOT of V8 cars that struggle to get out of the 14's. The stock and mostly stock V8 cars in a real world weather situation on street tires don't run 13's like nothing. I've yet to see a stock S197 at Famoso run faster than a 14.1, but it's also a much hotter weather track so it hurts power, but that's the real world.
