You gotta consider what your stock internals can handle too. 600 at the crank is pretty stout, more than an unbuilt engine can take imo. I think a cheaper kit like the OP has is fine if you don't plan on forging, making much more than 400-450 rwhp, etc.

exactly stone..... my goal with this car was to run low to mid 12's..... thats all i want... i feel that a 12 sec car is a nice streetable car that can deff hold its own on the street and even at the track..... trust me if i had the money i would have went with a KB..... but this vortech is good enough for me right now and if i want i can always upgrade too...... thanx for all the feedback guys

^ very true..... alright guys, heres another question haha.... by next spring when the tracks re-open, i would like to break into the 400wt+ range..... now what are the best mods to do so while poss still only runnin 8 psi? now im sure a water-air cooler would get me there, so lets set a $ limit at $1700 which i think is the amount for a new cooler kit..... so with $1700 or the least $ spent, what mods, beside a cooler, could get me 400+wt at 8psi.... whatcha ya guys think? possible?

Hmm, I was going to recommend cooling that air down too, but you should also consider a good custom dyno tune as well. Between the cooler charge and the tune, you should be well past 400 rwtq, well past it.

Possibly upgrade the intake and the throttle body if you haven't already upgraded....Going to a 3.73 or a 4.10 gear will help out that 1/4 mile time as well.

Around here, stock cars run 12's......10 second cars are normal and fast cars are in the single digits w/o a cage. Cage'd cars better be in the 8's or they get made fun of....sucks for me, having a slow car and all.
