I predict the grass will grow a 1/4" before you guys finish the 1/4 miles. So I say it so it is true.

Meh.

I noticed that too but it doesn't really matter. The EG/EK weights aren't much different and the motors are pretty much the same; D16Y8 in the EK and D16Z6 in the EG. They differ with a slightly different head design, but it really doesn't matter. Both lay down a life threatening sub 105whp.

I had a jetta 2.0 as my first car... very similar to the civic in power... I had a cat back and intake and was still beat by the V6 mustang auto... not by much... but still lost

a 3600lbs sedan is a LOT heavier than a 2400lbs coupe.

No way a Jetta weighs 3,600.

Maybe 2,800 for an MKIII - MK4.

They make more hp and tq than the civic though too. In the ballpark of 150/140 I think. Where as the civic is 127 and I have no idea for tq.
