My first car was an lx sedan non vtec. And it was slow as hell. felt faster cause it was my first car and 5 speed. But it had zero pull above like 70. Drove my buddies 08 si the other day though, pretty quick little car, wayyy different than my old civic.

That's probably on an MK5. What year Jeeter are we talking about? It wasn't specified. I've got an MKIII Golf and there's no way it over 3,000 lbs. Edmunds has the curb weight at just under 2,700.

I assume older body style, pre 99 which wasn't available in pre 99 to my knowledge in a Jetta so your weight guess is still off. (to 1.5)

yea.... that really doesn't make sense... maybe he was saying the jetta wasn't available pre-99? But that would be incorrect. The Jetta has been around for quite a while.
