Default My first track times

supp ya'll!
First time at a drag strip and I was dissapponted bacause I didn't break into the 13's.

I drove around the water and did on average, 5-8sec burnouts; pretty much until the tires smoked.

Tell me what you think str8 up. Is this what this engine can do? I actually thought I'd hit high 13's even though I have no suspension work. Analyze my slip and comment so I know where I am...

oh, check this car out: owner was quite a character lol

with your trap speed/current power, you might be able to pull off a 13.9-13.8, but I do not see you faster.

get some more seat time, and just enjoy yourself!

Lots of room for improvement on the 60' times... I would have thought the nitto's would have at least had a 2.0 60'.

You definitely have room to improve the 60ft. with those tires. Not bad though.

Hey man you have nothing to be ashamed of. Running a 14.041 is oustanding especailly for your current setup. With some steeper gears you will be most def in the 13's. My 1st time at the track (first run) was a 14.03 when I had the 373's. Next run I burnt the clutch out but I plan on going back, cause it was a blast... Also is it just me or did that guy ruin that Cobra.... Man what a waste..

First of all, thanks guys. I feel better now. I thought I was suppose to run 13.9 consistantly. I have alot of practice to do so ya'll better bet that I will be going to practice. I want to get through 4th at least so I will be putting in some gears as soon as possible. It was fun. I will post a vid shortly, but right now Im eating, & about to go to work.

slodier, I think that car is sick! lol

and thanks for the feedback man.

Thanks bro.. You did a helluva job man. I'm buying a Vortech this summer and then I'm gonna try it again... I think I had a bad clutch becasue the 1st run it was hard as hell to get into third gear. Next run boom no clutch... Are you getting gears?

I need gears. Im gonna go with 3:90's or 3:73s. My buddy in his cobra is already complaining about not be able to race on the highway with 4:10s. I will see how my engine does then. If I'm not satisfied I'm gonna try to sell my gt engine and buy a N/A cobra set up. I would like to be 13.2 N/A and then build the bottom end for S/C. A s/c is the last thing on my mind

That's about right I would think. Glad you enjoyed the track.

You need to do some 2V bolt-ons and then you'll be good to go - low 13's

CAI, Tune, UDP, TB, Upper Plenum, Gears, DRs......some 4.10s and and some serious driving and you may just pull off a 12.99
