Default Stroker

Pulled alongside a 72 Malibu at a light last night, and I immediately heard the unmistakeable rumble of a potent V8. Asked the driver what it had, and he replied "383 stroker". He asked if I wanted to run, and I gave a thumbs up.
I got a clean launch, he lit up his tires a little. I was ahead by about half a car thru 1st and most of 2nd. I started pulling on him a little at the top of 2nd and in 3rd, and he got out of it.
He turned off before I had a chance to ask what hp it was rated at. But it definitely wasn't a "wild" 383 stroker, or else he would have pulled on me in the higher gears.

Those things are tanks. Probably had a blown tree fiddy that he just swapped the crank/rods with.

A 72 350 Malibu weighs 3300-3400#. So this race apparently had 2 tanks going at it.

+1.... My dad had a old 72 Dodge Charger with a 440 magnum. He still kicks his butt to this day because he sold it. That was like twenty two years ago. Op good run man.. Need to find out what the guy had under the hood..
