TL Type-S vs. F150 Raptor!
Wow, so I was just pretty stoked to see one of these on the road! We were pulling out of the local Blockbuster parking lot and right in front of me at the light is a brand new (I think it still had dealer tags) white Ford F150 Raptor with the optional graphics package. SWEET! I told my girl I wanted to play to see what he had.
The light turned green and we both took a left turn. I turned VSA off and had my girlfriend in the car and a bunch of work crap in my trunk. I pulled up aggressively next to him and he hung back about half a car. I flipped it into sport-shift mode just to keep the revs somewhat high, but we were at a weird rolling speed for me; 3rd gear at 45ish mph. He hit it hard from behind me and caught me by surprise, he pulled about a car on me. What surprised me was how quiet the truck was, I figured he would honk off or I could at least hear his engine screaming when he hit it.
So as soon as I hit my powerband I pulled even with him, banged it into 4th and I pulled about a car on him to 75mph or so. At that point traffic forced us to slow a bit. He followed me off the main road and turned with me into my neighborhood! Not sure if he lives here or is just visiting someone.
I have no clue which engine option this particular Raptor had, but I was impressed how he pulled when he hit it...especially with an automatic tranny. I wish we had a fair chance to line up together, after his car up-shifted it really lost steam, or maybe he let off...who knows. He kept moving up past 70+ though so I was guessing it just turned into a flying brick.
Awesome truck and a great run though...I really hope to see him again soon the street.

Damn man, that's a rare run. I fell in love with the Raptor after watching a full review of them. Those trucks are built to be driven at high speeds across rough terrain for extended periods, kind of like a civilized version of a baja truck (to a point of course). Anyway, good run! Did you ever do that J-pipe mod?

No Jpipe or precat deletes yet, but as soon as I do my 105k timing belt service here in about 10k miles and come out of warranty they're on top of the list. I did pick up a Passport 9500ix though and hardwired it into my car to prepare for the future mods :P

The raptor seems like a quick truck.
