I ate up a C-6 with my 5.0, and honestly wasn't really that close. We pulled up to the next light and he said "that settles it, I'm getting headers, exhaust and a tune". It kills me, I don't know why people still doubt the new 5.0 Stang, heck even guys on this forum still do.

I have a Steeda CAI, Evolution Performance Tune (93 octane) and catback Magna flow exhaust.

My last track day was 12.3@114mph.

Several months ago some guy in a C-6 pulled up next to me wanted to run. We were doing 50mph at the time so I looked over at my girlfriend (now wife) who just looked back at me and said "take him" and with that I dropped the car out of over drive which spun up my Paxton and then I went to about half throttle and pull 3 1/2 cars on him right off the bat. After that he did not want any more of me LOL!

Whelp, it looks like this thread finally got moved to street/strip! Oh well.

Anyway, with a GT500, modded at that, I cannot see too many stock 'Vettes hanging with it. Unless you happen to run into one of those supercharged 'Vette trims.

Did you turn off traction control totally? Does anyone know if a vette has that option too?

As impressive as a 114 trap is. I'm pretty sure the vette traps higher stock. With all things being equal the Vette should still win. Not raining on the Mustangs parade. I plan on buying a GT this spring.

The only time I ever raced one at the dragstrip, it was an LS2 A6 w/ a CAI, and I believe he trapped 112ish in ~0' DA. He wasn't a very good driver though. Only pulled off a 12.9. So, I guess it probably could've trapped higher.

I'm impressed. I didn't think a tune would be enough given the 400lb weight gap

I'm used to seeing 114-115 for the autos and 116-118 for the manuals. Atco sees negative DA from time to time. I also see alot of high 12 to mid 13 second Vette runs.

That low 12, 114 mph run on a tune is pretty wild. That trap is getting all up in the LS3 Vettes face, but if I had to bet on either car trapping higher, I'd have to agree with BB. I've mostly witnessed LS3 Vettes in the mid teens. I guess it would be safe to call it a driver's race.
