Default new best, head swap

I swapped my e7's, for a set of tfs170's and a set of scorpion 1.72 rockers and Went to the track the other day, everything done is in my sig.
My track is 1000ft---------not 1320ft

old times with stock heads
60ft---2.11
330ft--5.90
1/8th--9.03 at 79.6mph
1000ft-11.52 at 90.78mph

New times with Heads and rockers only, nothing else changed. Im even running 19lb injectors.
60ft---2.04
330ft--5.59
1/8th--8.49 at 85mph
1000ft--10.81 at 97mph

Im guessing this would equal a 12.8 or 12.9 in the 1/4mile, I was very pleased with the results, Its time to get a stall for the AOD, where i can get this thing out of the hole.

Congrats on new best. The online 1/8 to 1/4 calulator i use says a 8.5 translates to a 13.2 quarter mile. Still not shabby for an old 5.0 with a few bolt-ons

I don't think most people understand how horrible the AOD transmission is, so those times are damn good!

a 50 shot dropped my 60' time from a 2.5 to a 2.0 when my car had a AOD in it. you might want to do the same for now.

I would be looking to get the AOD built, not just a converter, as stock AOD's are very weak, as im sure you know.

My old times at the track I went 1.90 60' 8.49@82 1/8 and 13.26@102.56 1/4 and the other day I did do 60' 1.98 1/8 8.45@83.62 1/4 13.13@104.99 I hope this give you an Idea on how it would do, but congrats on the PB and those are some killer gains!! Can't wait to get rid of my E7's as well.

They are power robbers for sure, months back i installed a custom valve body from http://www.silverfoxtrans.com/silver...om/VB_AOD.html that really tightened up the shifts on this AOD, I would recomend that upgrade for any aod, its like a shift kit on steroids, and allows the 1-d-1 shuffle without hurting the trans, Im hoping to get a 9.5" 3k stall converter from
http://www.dirtydogperformance.com/c...aod/cat_4.html one day, then run it till it blows, then get it built/upgraded

All these runs where from this past Saturday, and they don't give us a mph on the 1000ft mark

60' 1.86
1/8 8.26@83.86
1000 10.805
1/4 12.95@104.78

60' 1.98
1/8 8.45@83.62
1000 10.98
1/4 13.13@104.99

60' 1.90
1/8 8.27@83.71
1000 10.81
1/4 12.96@104.87

60' 1.87
1/8 8.27@83.81
1000 10.80
1/4 12.95@104.81

60' 1.82
1/8 8.23@83.68
1000 10.77
1/4 12.91@105.25

60' 1.81
1/8 8.23@83.44
1000 10.77
1/4 12.92@104.87

60' 1.91

1000 10.79
1/4 12.93@105.55

60' 1.83
1/8 8.17@84.16
1000 10.69
1/4 12.82@105.92

Regardless your car is moving hard up top and I'd have to say you would indeed be 12.9's if not even 12.8's with how it does!! You just got to get a good stall in there and get those short times down and you could see 12.6's easy!!!
