RE: 98 maxima vs 98 GT
I dont think those old maximas are very fast at all.....the new ones with the big 3.5 liter with the auto only run a 15.4, and the manual is a 14.8 so I couldnt imagine a 98 is anything special.

RE: 98 maxima vs 98 GT
For what its worth i have had both. Last car was a 98 max w/ stick and now have a 98 gt w/ stick. The max seemed to be on par with the stang as far as power was concerned.
Being a FWD that 190 hp translates pretty well. The engine is also very strong for a V6. They are easy and not that expensive to mod.
With an auto in the stang it will be a good race.

I agree with matthewcowan I have a 2000 V6 5 speed my weight is somewhere around 3069 or so but with the spare taken out and some other stuff out of it I am thinkin it will be close to 3000 I also have 190hp and 220 tq I have a feeling that I would be dead even with your Bro, well like everyone else says depending on the shifting... so off the line it is on the driver on the roll I think that it would be even maybe I would slowly VERY slowly pull away from him.

i dont have a v6 now, and prob would never buy one again, but they are really underrated. there great for beating up on n/a ricers. everyone thinks there god awfull slow, especially ricers. everyone used to try and race me when i had that, and beat most. i especially like the guy who said my 00v6 couldnt hit 190 km/h. well considering i did it dozens of times, pretty sure it does. should another guy underrated them. at same time i know they are not going to go ls1 or even 5.0 killing, not even close. though for the money, they are a whole lot of fun.
