Default 300C SRT-8

Hey guys havnt had any stories in a while, well none worth mentioning till a few hours ago.

I was driving along when I see a 300C coming up from behind fairly quickly. He gets in the lane over to the left and comes up even with me. I look over and can see some huge brembo brakes through his rim as we're rolling. We are going about 60 at this point and I downshift to 3rd. Right as I do, he takes off and I follow suit.

As I grab 4th gear I pull him back even. Through 4th gear we are pretty even... like nose to nose. I grab 5th and bring his front bumper to my driver door and at that point he hits the brakes so I do the same. The race went from 60-120ish.

I roll my window down and throw a thumbs up out the window as he rolls back up to me. He rolls down his passenger window and I notice 2 fairly large guys. They are both grinning from ear to ear. I compliment him on his car and tell him its badass. I ask "Is that a SRT-8?" and he acknowledges it. He then asks what year is my car and I tell him its a 2011 v6. As I said that his eyes got all big and he smiled and said "Thats fast as hell for a v6"

He throws a thumbs up and takes off slowly. As he does, I see the SRT-8 badge on the back. Overall pretty happy I was able to beat it if just barely. If he didnt have a passenger he would have walked me for sure.

cheers

Damn dude, great job. I'm surprised you were able to match top ends with the big 6.1 Hemi, I need an CAI/tune/gears. I'd say those mods put you just under 300rwhp and a great gearing advantage. Easily a 12 second machine with a good driver and track.

That's nuts...when I was stock trapping 108.59 / 109.33 mph I ran door to door with one from 70 to 130ish... Hard to believe a V6 with just a few mods can match that. Wow

Op, your manual must be much faster than my weaker auto. I played with a 300 SRT8 a friend of mine has and I gotta tell you the outcome sure wasn`t like yours. He left me well behind no matter what roll we used. I did try him from a dig since he has traction problems and I don`t. I did get the jump but it didn`t last long.

His is factory stock and is better than a second faster than my 13.95 at US131. Kudos to what your can can do.

Well, you have to consider a few things. The one i raced had 2 pretty big dudes in it so it was extra heavy. Also, is your buddies SRT-8 stock? This one sounded stock cause it wasnt very loud. Also, the race was so close that if i was slow to shift it would have cost me the race.

Besides... he cant put his top down either so dont sweat it =)
