Is there a thread with a list of stock 1/4 mile record times for every vehicle? Just thought it would be a cool edition to S/S and would be a good sticky. With new cars, new models and different engines coming out all the time I loose track of what a lot of them run stock.

If someone wanted to take the time to find the old list (Not me of course). You could probably update it with list they have in car and driver.

Its a good idea if you can figure out how to keep the debating to a minimum. What I mean is, anytime a vehicle's 1/4 mile ET/trap is brought up, there is always a debate to whether or not it will run that ET on average, or if it takes an above average driver and perfect conditions, or if the car will even run said time. Also, most don't want to see mag times (me included ever since MT reported the LS2 GTO to be a 14.0 car).... but I would love to see a legit list put together.

This is way too hard to pull off. Someone has to be that guy and toss results that are clearly bs. There is a guy with an automatic 5.0 for example claiming 12.0 bone stock. If people were honest this task could work, but people lie all the time.

Now if you could somehow get MM&FF to test drive every car you want on the list then at least you would have a solid source.

Problem with that is Most people are not Evan Smith. The 14.0 that stone quoted for the LS2 is probably very legit with 90% of drivers out there. I can see how this list would become a battle of best claimed time vs. average time. Which is what the magazines like car & driver represent.

Motor Trend actually got a LS1 GTO to run a 13.6 @ 105 and a LS2 GTO to run a 13.3 so not sure where the 14 second ls2 run is coming from?

True blue, but this was supposed to be a bests list and not average I thought. Evan could probably produce near record times given his experience and location.

It wasn't MT, it was those queerbaits over at Insideline, Edmunds, whatever they go by, when they did the STI/GTO comparison. MT did actually spend sometime with the car and pull decent ETs out of both the 5.7 and 6.0.
