mine didn't look bad on the dip stick ether.... got worried though, and cut open the oil filter, and thats when the bad **** came out.

well..... it was motor oil..... so no...

but don't look good mang.

i've always gone off smell for transmissions..... when you see particles in teh fluid... I think it means your pretty well and fuked

Well, not the oil itself, but the amount/consistentcy of the metal mixed in, lol.

Some are saying its normal for transmissions to have a little like that, that is normal wear and tear.

I go off smell too when it comes to transmissions. Its not burnt, not yet. My last Maro's fluid smelled so bad it would almost make you sick. Get it on your hands and you can't wash that stench off.

drop the pan. It's the only way to know for sure, but if it smells burnt, then it probably is...
