Default Civic si you bet I did.

Was looking for something on the way home but this time of year is slim pickings. An sn95 v6 passed by, a few other cars of little to no interest. I'm just cruising in the slow lane at about 5 over and a pair of HIDs floats up(they appeared to be in the fogs maybe an 09?). He flew past me and slowed down again running about 10 over. By this point I'm close to my exit and obviously going to get nothing so I pick up the pace a bit. I move over, sit it in 3rd and let it eat... Lol. I came up on traffic pretty quick and he flew up on me after I slowed. The tool riding the left lane couldn't be bothered to move (waited for a good 30 seconds) so we both moved to the free right lane as went around him. As I moved back to the left he was hanging right behind me so I went wot again and used up some of 4th... Wow this thing is night and day. He was pretty far back when I let off and I just smiled a little. Moved back over and set my cruise again and he caught up just as I was hitting my exit. He was smiling like a fool and we exchanged a thumbs up.

Can't wait to bite into something big though.

Well I have a tune in it but it's nothing special, the guy said to expect massive gains from a dyno tune so I will still need to get one.

This combo seems to hit 360-370rwhp (other people's results with this cam and 241 heads per ls1tech)... Just a matter of time now, I would say I'm around 350ish?

You're still on stock cat back? Why not get a new exhaust?

Well I have a catback laying here but wanted to see how the stock sounded before I changed it. Honestly I think im keeping the stock stuff. At most I'll lose 10rwhp over something completely open (loudmouth?) and the car stays quiet enough I don't have to worry about pissing off my neighbor (chief of police) or draw any negative attention to myself . So far it just seems like a good choice and sounds pretty good.

Educate me a little. What exactly is a 241 head? Is 241 the inlet flow or just a generic number?

It's the head casting number... If you pop the hood 2001-2004 ls1 cars have a small 241 stamped on the head. Supposed to flow a little better over the old stuff but in my case ls6 heads are 243 casting so im down a little (5% from what I've read) from a full ls6 with these heads.

Casting number on front of heads.

Good run skater. Poor guy didn't stand a chance, but at least he gave you an excuse to open it up a little.

BB, the difference between the older LS1 heads and the 241 heads is pretty decent. Top that off along with the LS6 intake mani thats on the 01-02 LS1 and you have yourself a lot different LS1.
