Kerns vs 05 Evo
So I did a few races this weekend and this is one of them... Let me first start off by saying that I absolutely loved the color of this car. I didn't get a picture of the car itself, but below is a picture of what it pretty much looked like:
Anyway, on to the races. We talked in advance and we both knew I had him covered but we were just wanting to go out and have some fun and see how his car stacked up. He said his mods were pretty much full exhaust, upgraded wastegate, upgraded boost controller, and a slightly larger turbo off of another Evo (I believe he said off of the MR). He was running on 20psi. We did several races and they were all pretty much the same. We probably did 3 40 rolls and 3 60 rolls just for fun. Every race I pretty much would immediately start pulling on the hit and just run away from him. Honestly, the details of the race are a little fuzzy and I don't really remember how many cars I put on him each time. I wanna say around 6-7ish. I am supposed to be getting an email of the videos from the races so when I do I will edit this post and upload them. All in all I had a great time. He was a very cool guy and the car was gorgeous.

19-20psi is what the evo 8's came with from the factory, with those mods at that psi I believe most of them are sitting around 320whp. I 100% believe that outcome. He might have pulled a better turbo off of an evo 9, kind of pointless if he is still at stock boost levels but maybe a friend gave it to him for free/really cheap.

that evo he raced would probably run high 12s, compared to his high 11s, a full sec i the 1/4 mile = 10 car lengths basically.

Good run Kerns.
I thought those cars were capable of low 12s/high 11s on the stock turbo? Didn't think they needed more than bolt-ons, tuning, etc, to do work. I'm halfway asking, not claiming to know that for sure, so go easy on me, lol.

well someone at my track with an intake+full exhaust evo 9 at 21 psi ran 13.5@102mph, identical run to my 07 GT with bolt ons that i figured was good for a high 12. really this guy he raced couldn't be any faster, even with his boost controller and what is likely an evo 9 turbo, if he is just sitting at 20 psi.
someone at my track with an evo 8 MR ran 13.8@100mph I can't find his mod list though.
and my '12 gt with cai+tune only went 13.1@108 with worse da and 1,000 miles on it

Mishri, you guys are running in outer space though. I realize the whole FI fighting off a lot of that DA, but still....just bolt-ons, they're not going to run much faster than stock, but bolt-ons and a tune they haul ***. They're running mid 13s stock (here). Let me check around, something doesn't sound right.
edit, I'm not going to do too much searching, I know for a fact I've seen plenty of stock turbo EVO VIIIs going high 11s at impressive traps, 118+. Just do a quick Youtube search for what those vids are worth. I'll get some vid of them next time I'm at the track. The same crowd of them is usually there.
