Some Shelby Action
Out today with the Sunday morning crew and a newer guy with a Callaway LS2 blown C6 wanted to have some fun. He said he made 500 or so to the tire and asked for the hit since I make more power, I gladly obliged and waved my hand forward for him to go.
From about 50-55 I am in 3rd, so not a real sweet spot at about 3300-3500 rpm, he hits it and I mash the go pedal. He jumps out about 1/2 a car before I react, the front end lifts and the big old Whipple pegs the boost gauge at 20#. The symphony of 32 valves fills the cockpit as the Shelby leaps forward and near instantly starts to close the gap, by 90 we are even, the revs build as triple digit speeds are reached. As the motor hits 6300 I'm out on him by a bumper, foot to the floor I power shift to 4th and leap out a bit more. I look up to see some traffic ahead and decide to be cautious and let out. I'm sure I could have put some more distance on him with some more room.
A fun run for sure and we both laughed and smiled with the crew when we got back to the hang out spot.

no writing classes D.
I doubt I'll see Atco much - I was asked not to return without added safety equipment. I would have gone down for the NMRA event but it's not happening there this year
