I was on the fence between more wheel speed and focusing on keeping temps as cool as possible since it was so hot and the air was bad.

I might try higher revs in the burnout box and putting some ice in the IC resevoir next time. The IAT2's never got much past 110 on the 1st 2 passes, but after that they were creeping up around 125 by the end of a run as the day wore on.

What is your specific suspension setup and which tires are you running out back?

BMR adj UCA
BMR UCA Mount
BMR adj LCA's
BMR Panhard Bar
BMR Relo Brackets (bottom hole)
Eibach Pro Kit springs
275/60/15 M&H Drag radial
1 pc DS (-2* pinion angle)
3.73 Gear

Launch rpm's were not nearly high enough (3600-3800 rpm), so I had planned on next time going back to raise them to 4500. The 28" tall tire is a little harder to get used to than I thought.

That's my plan, but I am open to ANY suggestions

Nice ETs Steve! You'll figure out the taller tire in no time...looks like you were well on your way when that damn fuse blew. The top end and power is there for 6s, no doubt, just gotta drop that 60' a tad.

Love those vids, man. Really puts into perspective just how fast that 500 is accelerating.

Thanks man. Yeah, I've got to push it harder out of the hole. Hopefully going back in a week or two and try again. Probably going at night when the air is a little better to squeeze a little more mph out of it.

Do you remember me telling you about my friend with a LS1 that looked like yours? You told me to get some video, so here ya go. He posted a couple of his passes from Sunday online. ENJOY!!

Thanks for that vid, Steve!! That catfish is flat getting it! He definitely doesn't leave anything on the table when he launches, lol.

Better air should make a big difference for ya. 2500' DA is pretty rough for us NC guys. I'll be keeping an eye out for an update in the next couple/three weeks.

Have you and that LS1 ever lined up?

We never have. I know his brother-n-law pretty well, and thats how I know the owner. Talking at the track this weekend, he said he just got his car together over the winter and has run it 3 or 4 times, and this past weekend was the first pass with my new setup, so we are both still learning the cars. It would be a great race if/when we do line up. He can probably shoot another 50hp of nitrous, and I could put on a set of slicks and the cars would probably be neck and neck at the line. I would give him the advantage in the 1/8th, and I think I would come out ahead in the 1/4. His best trap speed is 103 on a 150 shot, so it gets it done up top also, so it would be pretty tight all the way around. I really like his car though... for the amount of mods that thing hauls ***!!

Dear god almighty, he moves the fishy out like it's his business. I'd be scared of ruining my transmission shifting like that!
