Honestly I'm not sure just yet. Too many options available and I'm still sorting pro and cons.

Keeping the car though, right? TONS of options for you out there if you end up having to re-do the engine. Might as well do it up right. From what I've found, LS1, LS2, and LS6 engines all run about the same price. Of course you could always just rebuild what you have too.
What are the symptoms anyway?

Thanks guys.. It's been paid off for years so it doesn't owe me anything... We figured it up the other day and it has at least 600 drag strip passes on top of 154k of daily driving in every condition you can think of over the past 7 years. Definitely going to put money into the engine and keep going. At this point I can drop a lot of money if I wanted to considering what a new car would cost. I just need to decide if I'm ever going to boost or spray then go from there.
