Default 2011 F150 vs 2006 Mustang GT

So, without saying a word, I found myself in a light to light race with a 2011 F150 twin turbo v6.

Results? Just too damn close to call. We were just about nose to nose all the way. My nose was out front by about 2ft when I started hitting the brakes (because we were at 80-90 and that other light was getting closer). Had I gone into 5th gear? No idea who would've won.

For a good while I was just staring at the front edge of his bumper and it just wasn't moving as we barreled down the road.

Oh well - it was a good race

5th gear?

At 80-90 u should still be in 3rd unless u have 4.30s

He likely had a tune in his truck.

I am not completely shocked by the result but I am surprised, I know you are down on power a little and on torque, but what is curb weight on the 150 with the eco-boost? It is 4700 on base ones, 2wd with the 3.7, so I imagine the eco-boost must be 5,000+ since you have to get either the 8' box or the extended cab, so you have a big weight advantage. I'd hope I could blow the doors off one, but who knows.

... I had only JUST gone into 4th. That or I really wasn't paying attention to my speed (possibility - since I was within 8 inches of the truck, I was shifting more based on feel and sound than RPM and speed)

And this is why I never regret trading in my 05. $400 a month is worth it.

Figured that truck would've gotten dusted. Maybe he had some things done.

Good possibility. That or I wasn't driving at peak. I wasn't FULL ON going for it. I mean, I was flooring it, but I wasn't necessarily shifting at peak power band.

Best mag time I've seen for an ecoboost was a 14.67. A tune could get one into the 13's for sure
