My dad (z28th1s) and I made the 4hr trip down to Fayetteville yesterday for some 1/4mile action. These were our first passes since our last round of mods. His personal best before was a 12.91, mine was a 13.30.

I was fairly disappointed as I was expecting 12's this trip, but it wasn't meant to be that day. The da was around 1800' all day, with temps in the mid-80s. Not great weather, but def could be worse.

Although my car runs pretty good, his really scoots with the ported upper/lower intake manifolds. Mine should be getting ported in the next 2 weeks so I'm eager for similar gains. Now, if I can consistently powershift my car like dad can, I'll be right there with him.

Your car has 12's in it like it sits on a better DA day with better track prep!!

I was pleasantly surprised with my 12.78's and 109+ trap speeds in the heat!! Stone, it was nice meeting you and you have a very nice SS and it runs well too!!!

Had a really good time. Weather was nice, but a little too much for the car's to run full potential. 1800' and a lack of track prep is good for practicing, but definitely not a PB producer..not usually anyway, lol. I think everyone has another 1-2 tenths and 1-2 MPH hiding in their cars with some good Fall or early spring air. I'm hoping that I can make the 11.59 at 118.5 DA correction a reality, lol. Or better with a real 60' and not leaving off idle :/

Z28, I am still stunned from seeing that 12.78 at 109 pop up on the board! Not once, but several times. You definitely know how to run what you got! 97 has 12s in his all day, just doubt its going to happen until he gets that ported intake or better air to run in.

I know, I kept thinking they were giving me the same time slip every time. It ran 12.78 @ 109+ four different runs and a 12.80 @ 109+.

I agree that if the track was hooking better and it was cooler we could have all knocked another .1-.2 off!!

Damn, this makes me want to hit the track ASAP. Good runs guys. Ya know 97, if you were in this nice California weather you'd be in the 12's with no problem.

Wow really impressive. Congrats on new best. Hopefully you'll get that slip this fall. I'm still looking for my first 12 second slip in the SS. Drag radials here I come. LOL. Only chance I would have against dads 3.7.

Even tho you nor stone got your goal this time out your car is still scootin for a damn v6 with very minor work. is the only difference between yours and your dads cars the port work on the intake? if so that's surprising that it would cause a 4 tenth difference, that's huge for port work!

I can't believe I didn't mention Stone meeting us down there!!! Sorry bout that bud, I'm glad you met us out there and didn't mind hanging out with some ol v6 guys

Dad's mods over mine are: Alum d/s, clutch, alum flywheel, uca, panhard bar, and the ported intakes. A big difference in time between us were our 60's. I was 1.82-1.90 all day, to his 1.7s. That and his powershifting vs. 'speed'shifting. It all adds up to his car being quite much quicker then mine! If I run better on a cooler day, he probably will too. I'm confident I'll get that slip soon. I'm looking into some Strange 10-ways now......

And BB... me vs SS on streets and dad vs. SS on a tire... sounds like some good matchups!
