Default Got rocked 😔

I play basketball with a group of guys and one of them has an E46 M3 SMG coupe. Years ago I raced one that was SMG and a vert. Those rolls were very close with each of us winning one each. I figured it would be somewhat close. Nope, he approached me at a bend and was just stabbing his throttle. Just getting 4.10's I am kinda relearning how to drive my car again. I was in 1st doing 30 and let him take the hit. Mistake number one. I pursued and over revved 1st...badly, mistake number two. Redline is 5750 and I didn't notice where I was at. I shifted at 6500 Fawk!!! I shut I down and the punk just waved his hand signaling good bye. I knew I'd lose but damn. I'll see him tomorrow and I'll just say, we'll what do you expect. Next time ill kick my friend out, bring a camera and ask for a dig. I feel that I can out launch him an hold him off for a while. From a dig vs a intake cat back M3 how long can I hold him off from a dig?

You can prob hold him off realistically til about 35mph from a dig. Those are quick cars.

What are your mods? Just bolt ons? I've seen a stock e46 beat a bolt on 3v by about a length.

Is it a stock M3? I would guess you could hold him to almost the 1/8th... IIRC they are a good race for a stock Mach 1.

This^^

IMO, you are a drivers race, if not a tad quicker, from a dig thru the 1/8th. I personally don't see him really coming around you thru the 1/4 if you are already ahead, not on a track anyway. From a roll like that, he was prob sitting at a high RPM, right in the middle of his power, so giving him the hit was a mistake.

I have a different take on things. I have a close friend thats real into BMWs. (I dont hold that against him). He had a stock E46 that ran 13.2 and cut a 2.o sixty three times in a row. So he was very consistant. He now owns an E93 V8 car. I'm going to guess you won't hold off the bimmer at all from a dig. But I'm always rooting for the American muscle. My buddy knows he has nothing for my stang! Or the old skittle for that matter unless he throws some turns into the mix.

He basically is stock. Apparently those motors are pretty much tapped out from the factory. I think he was in his best spot and me in my worst. When I saw him today I told him that I hit the limiter and that I wanted to run again later. I'll try n get go pro for it. He doesn't strike me as one who goes to the track or go from digs. Not that I do all the time lol. Hopefully I can prove you wrong blue

Blue this is why I believe he will hold up pretty well... even the low 13 second passes for e46 M3s (which are not the norm) have mid 8s and low 80 traps in the 1/8th. They do well on the top end but I don't see any of the 1/8th times being out of the OPs range. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

I think you could take him if you get out on him hard from a dig. You might need stickier tires though. (and I don't know your suspension mods)

Oh, and I'll just leave this right here...
