Thanks guys!

Dad had a best 60ft of 1.700 on his 12.60 pass. I had a best of 1.73 60ft.

Damn nice short times. Thats right there where my car lingers. Those 3.7s dont have a ton of top end (plenty enough to keep up from a roll with stock ls2 Goats, stockish LS1s, etc), but they get out of the hole hard as hell. Is it all in the gearing or what?

Looked like the gray auto 3.7 was doing well too. What stall is he using?

Good stuff! With a new torque converter and slightly taller stall, he should be able to cut a low 1.6 with the same amount of power. 1.70 is incredible for the current suspension, stock convertor, and minimum bolt-ons!

No.

Dad's is the Race Red car. Mine is the Black, both are stick cars. The 3rd car is the auto car.

The auto car cut a best 60ft of 1.56. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. Can't help but call foul on the timers, but, I saw it, lol.

Stone,

Our 1st gear is 4.26:1, something around there, so I would imagine that helps a lot coming out the gate. That's why we can't really go lower then the 3.73s, first would be REAL short then. Gearing, GREAT weight transfer, and sticky tires seem to be the keys for these cars.

The auto car has a (I belive) a Circle D converter with 4k stall. It runs good, real good, but it just seems too... easy. lol.

The auto car did cut a 1.56 60' time on one pass, but all of the other passes were in the mid 1.7's, so I think it was a 'blip' with the timers on that pass. He is using a 4K stall Circle converter.

Our 1st gear is 4.24, so basically just like Tristan said.

Stone, 107-110 MPH (109.86 at Fayetteville) trap speeds aren't bad for a 300 RWHP car that has a race weight of 3,500+ pounds. The 3.7's have a good topend, just not comparably with larger displacement v8's like the LS1.

Nice runs! I was at MIR yesterday for a track rental hosted by another site, and we had a great time. I really like MIR - great track prep, low temperatures, and negative DA yesterday provided quite a few new personal bests (myself included!).

The top end is impressive for the displacement and hp for sure! Just goes to show that you don't need big dyno numbers to run strong ETs. Really makes me want one to DD and mod too.

If you guys ever end up with blowers, nitrous, etc..things are going to get real, lol.

This is irony at its finest.

This is the second fella with a GM saying (not sarcastically either) that they would "like" to have this v6, whether it be as a dd or whatever. Our buddy with a h/c/i c6z said the same thing. He has done some work on Dad's car and has made a couple trips to the track with us and continues to be impressed.

I WILL have boost in my life one day. Realistically probably when the car is paid off. But, that will hopefully give the market enough time to come out with a tried-n-true turbo setup, as these cars still need help with tq more then anything.

Thanks!!

I was talking to a friend of mine that was also at MIR on Friday 10/25. He has an automatic '14 GT and ran his PB of a 11.56. He said the DA on that pass was like -1,050 feet!!

Looks like my son and I went a week too early!!

Eh, don't get me wrong..dollar for dollar there are much better vehicles to buy/mod to run 12s, 11s, or faster. The thing that sparks my interest with the 3.7 is the amount of efficiency that comes with the performance it offers for the amount of money in modifications. And it seems to mod well without degrading it as a DD.

My car ran 12.2 at 114 on street tires with 3.73s, exhaust and tune, but it was not getting anywhere near 30mpg, and lacks the sheer comfort, handing, braking, etc that the 3.7 has. To me, I'd rather have a mid 12 car that doesn't rip my back pocket off every few days at the pump, handles well, stops well, is comfy with newer tech...vs a mid 11 car that warps rotors every 2 months, rattles, drips water on my lap every time it rains, eats rear ends, tracks all over the road, etc. With that said, I just wish I could have both cars!
